Requirements for preparing and submitting manuscripts to Russian Language Studies.

The journal accepts manuscripts in Persian, English and Russian. The accepted manuscript categories are Original Research Articles and Scholarly Review Articles, including literature reviews or book reviews when appropriate to the journal’s scope and policies. Use the template for the language in which your manuscript is written.
The main manuscript file must be anonymized for peer review. Enter full author details in the separate Author Details Form. After preparing the files, submit your manuscript through the submission page. If the submission form fails or returns an error, email the manuscript to mm.rubin@ut.ac.ir.
Manuscript length
- Research articles: 3,000–7,000 words, excluding the abstract and references.
- Review articles or exceptional cases: up to 9,000 words.
References and citations
- Research articles: 15–40 references.
- Review articles: up to 60 references.
Source credibility, relevance and quality are more important than the number of references alone. Use current sources appropriate to the topic. For contemporary topics, at least half of the references should be from the past 10 years. Older authoritative sources are acceptable for classical topics when they remain academically important.
Similarity and plagiarism
Maximum overall similarity: 15%. Maximum similarity to any single source: 5%. The similarity report is assessed before further review. If an issue can be corrected, the manuscript may be returned for revision. Confirmed plagiarism leads to rejection and is handled under the journal’s regulations.

A conflict-of-interest declaration is mandatory for every submission. Complete the form above and upload it with the manuscript files.
Use of artificial intelligence
AI tools may be used only as assistants for language editing, translation and improving writing. Using AI to generate original scholarly content or analyses for which the author is academically responsible is not permitted without transparent disclosure. Authors must state the extent and purpose of AI use and identify the tool in the submission form, for example: “ChatGPT, version …; used only for language editing and translation.” Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their manuscripts. AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
Permitted percentage of AI use
The journal does not set a fixed percentage. The key criteria are transparency, author accountability and the genuinely assisting nature of AI use. Unauthorized or undisclosed use is handled under the journal’s publication regulations.
